Living In Portland

Smith Street; Back Cove; Mount Washington

Mount Washington, the biggest mountain in the northeastern U.S. and home to the "world's worst weather," is just sixty miles away from Portland, and easily visible from multiple vantage points in the city on those relatively rare days when the summit isn't in the clouds.

It was a nice sunset this afternoon — just a pity that it happened at four thirty p.m. This is the view looking northwest down Smith Street over East Bayside and Back Cove (click the image above for a large-format version).
