Job Photographer and artist / Ann Tracy Fine Art & Photography inside Constellation Gallery
Lives In Deering Central
Ann Tracy is a native New Englander who grew up in the Maine towns of Fryeburg and Cape Neddick before her family moved south to Massachusetts and then west to Colorado in 1969. After decades of living in Colorado, Wisconsin and California, Tracy is now calling Portland home with her husband, dog and two cats. She is a member of the Digital Arts Guild, Webists International Artists, Maine Artists Collective and exhibits at Constellation Gallery in Portland.
Her fine art has been exhibited from Japan to Maui to New York City. In 2013, her digital collage "Flying Coyotes Surround the El Cortez" was chosen as the centerfold for Artscope Magazine. Her digital paintings “The Power of Romania Lies in its Artists” and “Message 3” were juried into the 2010 and 2008 editions of “American Art Collector.” She presented a creativity workshop to feature writers at the Sacramento Bee, a daily newspaper, in 2008.
Her photograph entitled "Behind the Water: Mystery" was a juror's Choice in fall 2013 at the New York Center for Photographic Art show "Water."
Why did you choose Portland? Because of Portland's big city advantages in art, entertainment and restaurants with nature close by and small town friendliness.
Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Holly Seeliger for her work in the community and work as a member of the school board.
What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Take them to all our favorite places here. J's Oyster Bar is probably most requested by return guests.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Eastern Prom.
What's the most surprising thing about this city? How friendly everyone is!
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? Constellation Gallery houses members of the Maine Artists Collective, who work in a variety of genres. These are up and coming artists selling their work at a reasonable price.
Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? Springboard Pilates!
I focus on creative solutions first and foremost; offering expert advice and ideas to support artists in Portland's creative community.
