I'm pioneering the field of music therapy here in Maine.

Kate Beever returned to her home state of Maine after completing her Masters in Music Therapy at NYU. She provides group and individual music therapy sessions to teens and adults with cancer, brain injury, developmental disabilities, and dementia. Kate partners with hospitals, day centers, music schools, and nonprofits to create music therapy programs that address cognitive, physical, social, and emotional goals of clients.
Kate also performs as a percussionist, keyboardist, and singer with the Zach Jones Band and Beevermccain. She loves running the Eastern Prom trail, paddleboarding, practicing French, archery, and dancing.
What do you like to do with out-of-towners? I love having friends visit from other cities, and we often just walk around the old port or visit tasting rooms.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Sitting on the rocks overlooking the islands! Or laying on them, if I've had a particularly tiring run.
Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? Hilltop coffee! When I get tired of my home office, I walk to Hilltop and I always either run in to friends, or meet new ones.
I orchestrate a laboratory and training ground for the international contemporary dance community.
