I bring fantasy to Maine.
Job Photographer / Lola Studios
Lives In North Yarmouth
Lola Studios is the joining of my two artistic loves, photography and theatre. Theatre allows you to explore your inner desires and express yourself to the fullest, while photography captures the experience. With 10 years of experience, my background ranges from portraits, weddings and events to fashion. However, nothing is more exciting to me than creating a dramatic visual concept and seeing it through.
Why did you choose Portland? I moved to Portland for an internship with Aurora Photos, an outdoor recreation-based stock photo company created by National Geographic photographers. I was slated for four months, and that has turned into four years in Maine. I love it here!
Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Kazeem at Portland Trading Co. He brought a beautiful and exotic collection to Portland and is a pleasure to talk to.
What do you like to do with out-of-towners? We hit the Portland Headlight and Two Lights and stop by Two Lights Lobster shack.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? I love Munjoy Hill- who doesn't?
What's the most surprising thing about this city? How much there is to do in such a small space. I love how everything you need is all within walking distance.
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? The Holy Donut! Chocolate Sea Salt donut :)
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? Not sure if it's under-appreciated, but the St. Lawrence Community Arts Center is always worth checking out for shows.
Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. Big booth at Shay's for dinner and drinks and Local 188 salmon scramble with the house tea in the morning!
Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? Target
I write fiction, short stories, and poetry. Lately, it's mostly haiku inspired by what I dream about at night.
