Body Mechanic - Creating Healthier Lives In Portland With The Art, Science And Philosophy Of Chiropractic.

Job Chiropractor / Jacobs Chiropractic Acupuncture and Perinatal & Pediatric Chiropractic of Maine

Lives In Cumberland

Born in Farmington, Maine. Attended UMF, Beijing Polytechnic University, University of Chicago, Cleveland Chiropractic College. Have worked in Portland since 2003.

Trained and certified in chiropractic acupuncture and is board certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and The Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice. Specialist in perinatal and pediatric chiropractic for moms, children and the dads of Portland.

I love working with musicians, children, parents, artists, teachers and performers.

I've been blessed with the best local patients and friends of my office in Portland and the entire state. I have had the pleasure of working with Mumford & Sons, Gogol Bordello, Trey Anastasio, Blackberry Smoke, Tommy Emmanuel, Punch Brothers and a number of other musicians, actors, athletes and performers. Portland has an abundant network of healthcare providers that fall outside the model of damage control through medication and surgery. The art of staying healthy and preventing crises is alive and well in Portland, Maine. It is for this reason among others that Portland thrives. Health is about moving forward and toward a better place. Doing this in a better place (Portland) is easy.

Dr. Lou's kitchen on YOUTUBE is my latest project, with dozens of recipes from around the world, made in a simple kitchen with simple ingredients. The menu grows weekly! All recipes are prepared by Dr. Lou.

Why did you choose Portland? Portland has the action, the European feel, the water and the music.

Who are Portlanders you admire and why? I admire Lauren Wayne and the staff at The State Theatre for turning what was a musical wasteland but for the locals into a city with some great visiting acts. Our local musicians are fantastic but it's still nice to have some of our out-of-town heroes come to visit.

What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Eat and go to Port City Music Hall.

What's the most surprising thing about this city? The fact that more people don't live here.

What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Cappuccino at Bard and Pho at Than Than 2.

Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? My office.
