I write brand stories for do-gooders.
Job Brand Strategist / GMMB (remote)
Lives In Rosemont
I love helping organizations discover their true brand identities. I believe a good brand story is less "Wow, how'd you come up with that" and more "That's what I've been trying to say all along." A good story makes everyone want to be a character in it. A good story makes a difference in my client's ability to make a difference. I work from my home office in Rosemont for GMMB in DC, which makes me one of the luckiest people I know.
Why did you choose Portland? It's as close to perfect for me as cities get.
Who are Portlanders you admire and why? The entire staff of The Telling Room for creating a world-class non-profit in an unlikely spot.
What do you like to do with out-of-towners? The Eastern Prom playground makes out-of-town parents so jealous.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? It used to be Stone Coast Brewing. Maybe Mash Tun?
What's the most surprising thing about this city? That it hasn't quadrupled in size every year for the past decade.
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Gelato Fiasco's Pistachio - never tasted anything like it before.
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? Amatos.
Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. Picnic dinner at Kettle Cove. Josh Ritter at the State. Breakfast at Rose Foods.
Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? Lately Mami is where I want to spend my lunch hour. It's the hidden gem everyone knows about.
I love exploring, entertaining, laughing, connecting with people, and getting my hands dirty.
I use my twin identity as an artist and writer to create work for commercial and editorial clients.
